Principal's Corner

Pam Mitchell Welcome to Mockingbird Elementary, a CEP National School of Character and 2011-2012 Honor Student Council Excellence Award School! We have 580 of the hardest working, caring learners in the state of Texas as well as the most amazing staff imaginable!

Mockingbird Elementary is a student-centered campus with high expectations for every child in all areas. We have a phenomenal staff of lifelong learners that continually strive to determine how best to meet the needs of every student using research-based instructional strategies, a variety of assessment tools, and professional learning communities to remain abreast of current educational practices. With a focus on Project Based Learning (PBL) and differentiated instruction in the classroom, teachers create innovative lessons to meet the needs of individual learners in the 21st Century. Our goal is for every child to be successful academically and socially through a nurturing, supportive environment.

To further enhance the educational opportunities of our learners, we have incredible parental involvement, a large number of volunteers, and a dynamic PTO and Mavs' Dads Club. At Mockingbird Elementary, we know it takes the entire community to enrich the education of our students; therefore, we encourage you to volunteer and become part of our team for success.

Team Mockingbird, Game on!
