Welcome to Mockingbird Elementary, a TEPSA State School of Character, a CEP National School of Character and a three-time Honor Student Council Excellence Award School! We have 550 of the hardest working, caring learners in the state of Texas as well as the most amazing staff imaginable!

Mockingbird Elementary is a learner-centered campus with high expectations for every child in all areas.  We have an extraordinary staff of lifelong learners that continually strives to determine how best to meet the needs of every child using research-based instructional strategies, a variety of assessment tools, and professional learning communities to remain current with best educational practices.  Our campus strategic initiative is Project Based Learning (PBL) which aligns with the CISD Learning Portrait and The New Vision for Public Schools in Texas, which was developed by superintendent participants in the Public Education Visioning Institute. Educators at Mockingbird design innovative differentiated lessons to meet the needs of today’s learners. Our goal is for every child to be successful academically and socially through a nurturing, supportive environment.

We invite you to visit our classroom websites, follow our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Mockingbird on Facebook, and our campus on Twitter. To further enhance the educational opportunities of our learners, we have outstanding parental involvement, a large number of volunteers, and a dynamic PTO and Mavs’ Dads Club.  At Mockingbird Elementary, we know it takes the entire community to enrich the education of our learners; therefore, we encourage you to volunteer and become part of our team for success.

Excellence, Respect, and the Mockingbird Way!
