Dear Parents, Families & Friends,
I hope you enjoyed visiting Lakeside for our annual open house. I know that our learners were so excited to celebrate all their hard work and accomplishments with you. Thank you for joining us.
If you haven’t done so already, I would encourage you to sign up for an upcoming Learning Walk. Lakeside Learning Walks are a great way for visitors to get a bird’s eye view of our Lakeside learners in action. Currently, our sign-up sheet is located outside of the office, but we will be sending out instructions for you to access available Learning Walk times via an online sign up. The online sign-up information will be included in the March 19th edition of Just the Facts.
Just in case you are not aware, Coppell ISD has finalized our new district boundaries. If you are wondering whether or not your neighborhood will be impacted, you can visit the CISD website for the final plan and school information. During the coming weeks I will be sending out digital enrollment and sibling questionnaires. Please set aside some time to complete them as they will assist us in our planning for the new year.
What makes Lakeside a Digital School of Communication (DSC)? At Lakeside, our learners are provided with a rigorous instructional program that incorporates digital tools, 21st century soft skills, and PBL (Project Based Learning) where learners have the opportunity to master content in a relevant way. Please visit our website for more information.

The 21st century focus at Lakeside does not stop at the integration of meaningful soft skills. Lakeside learners are surrounded by instructional media that they use to communicate with the world around them, collaborate with peers, create multimedia presentations, and critically evaluate information from global sources. Lakeside learners and educators have access to an ample supply of current technology from a variety of platforms. Each homeroom has an interactive smart board and available computers for learners to use. Grade levels have access to netbooks, laptops, two computer labs, Macbooks, iPads, iPods, and participate in virtual learning experiences on a regular basis. Our learners are preparing for the world of tomorrow and mastering the tools of today.
