What Summer School opportunities are available for my child?
- The district provides a summer school opportunity at no cost to learners who are classified as ESL who were in grades PK and Kindergarten during the 2018-2019 school year (rising Kindergartners and First Graders in the 2019-2020 school year).
- In addition, the district offers 5th grade accelerated learning for learners who have not met standard on their reading or math STAAR test twice during their 5th grade year.
- K-5 Newcomer Summer School classes will be offered for those learners classified as Newcomers who would benefit from attending.
Bus transportation will be provided for Summer School. Once your child is signed up for Summer School, you will receive an email with information on pickup/drop off times and locations. If you have questions regarding summer transportation, please contact cgollner@coppellisd.com.
All Summer Learning Offerings will be at Wilson Elementary.

TIME: 7:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
*Learners in ESL/Bilingual Summer School will need to bring a snack and a lunch. Lunches may be purchased at school for $2.50. School lunches consist of a sandwich, pretzels, fruit and a drink. If your child qualified for lunch at a free or reduced rate for the 2018-2019 school year, your child will continue to receive the same benefits during Summer School. The reduced rate is 30 cents per day.

- Participation in Elementary Summer School is by invitation only. Students who qualify will receive a packet from their school.
- The Elementary Summer School schedule differs from the Secondary Summer School schedule.
- Elementary Summer School instruction will target intense skill development for literacy and math learners. Vocabulary and comprehension development will be the focus for ESL/Bilingual learners.
