    Dear CISD Families,

I am so excited to share with you two new innovative ways Coppell ISD is connecting with our community. First, there is our new “Coppell ISD’s We Value” podcast, which focuses on how we are living out our core values each day in the district. You can find us wherever you get your podcasts or visit go.coppellisd.com/WeValuePodcast to listen. CISD also is on Alexa, which includes Mindful Moments and an audio version of “Catch Up with Hunt.” You can see instructions on how to add us to your Alexa briefings at go.coppellisd.com/CISDAlexaInstructions.

I continue to be amazed at the incredible work our teachers and students are doing this school year. Whether at home or in person, everyone is working so hard. I enjoy seeing the results of these efforts on display in school or virtually. I cannot say thank you enough for everyone coming together to do what is best for the children we serve. Keep up the great work!

I hope you enjoy this fall weather and have a wonderful, restful weekend with your family.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Brad Hunt

    Board Approves Tax Rate
The CISD Board of Trustees voted to adopt a reduced 2020 tax rate for the district at its Sept. 14 Board Workshop. Free Meals for Elementary & Distance Learners
Starting Oct. 1, CISD will offer free meals to all in-person elementary students and all virtual students (PK-12 and all children under 18) through the end of December 2020. Sign up is required weekly for virtual learners to receive these meals at go.coppellisd.com/CurbsideOrderForm. Read more at go.coppellisd.com/2020FreeMeals.

    Student Zoom Sign In Reminder
Reminder, all students need to sign into Zoom with their @g.coppellisd.com account. CISD recently learned that logging into Zoom using the Google Button doesn’t actually transfer their account into the district enterprise account. Students MUST go through the SSO option. When your child signs into Zoom, and they see “Guest” next to their name in the participant’s list, this means that they are NOT signed into their @g.coppellisd.com account in our Coppell Zoom domain and need to add their account to our domain by signing in with SSO. Visit go.coppellisd.com/StudentZoomSignIn for instructions.

    Apple Update for Student iPads
Apple has released a new update to the operating system for the iPads. The latest version of the iPad Operating System is 14. It is available for download in “Settings” on all district-issued iPads. The CISD Technology Department is asking all users to update their devices, as soon as possible. To do this, the user will go to Settings, go to General, touch Software Update, touch Download and Install. This will begin the process. The user will need to agree to the terms and conditions before the download begins. It should take fewer than 10 minutes to download the update, and another 15 or 20 minutes to install the software.

    Commitment Forms 2nd Grading Period

All CISD parents and guardians should have received an email Sept. 21 with instructions and a pre-populated commitment form for the district’s second period. The first day of school of the second grading period is Tuesday, Oct. 13. Only fill out a form if you are changing your commitment for the second grading period. If you did not get a form or have questions, email input@coppellisd.com.

    Athletics Tickets Reminder

There will be no cash/credit card ticket sales at CISD athletic venues for both middle school or high school events this year. You will need a ticket to enter all home games this year, including middle school sports. There also will no longer be free access to games for our non playing student athletes. Census Reminder
Time is running out to take the Census.
