    CISD Learns

The window for signing up for sessions for CISD’s Digital Learning Conference May 30 and May 31 closes today at 5 p.m. Make sure you’ve secured your seat in the session(s) of your choice in Sched. The event can be found here: https://cisdpl53019.sched.com/. If you haven’t downloaded the Sched app yet, use this resource to learn how before attending the conference.

Also mark your calendars for July 17 and July 18, when CISD will host a two-day conference about Social Emotional Learning. You will receive an email from Brooke Sims with instructions about how to select sessions using Sched soon.

Each of these two-day conferences will prepare you to utilize digital learning tools or strategies for social emotional well-being that will ensure learners engage in meaningful relationships that will ultimately redefine their success through your great teaching.

New Hires, we are excited to welcome you to our CISD family and invite you to participate in Professional Learning this summer! Bookmark this graphic that houses logistical information about new hire orientations, conferences, and your new hire and onboarding breakfast.

Employee Benefits Open Enrollment July 1- August 23

Open Enrollment for employee benefits will be from July 1 through August 23, 2019. Click here for new rates and click here for a “What’s Changing” document. Please complete your enrollment early, so the end of your summer is relaxing. This is a passive enrollment, which means if you take no action, which is not recommended, all benefits will carry over to the new plan year except flexible spending and dependent care. The new plan year begins on September 1, 2019. Deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums will start over again on Sept. 1. The deadline of August 23, 2019 is a firm deadline for all current employees, and there are no exceptions. New hires have 30 days from their start date to complete open enrollment. TRS Active Care is a self-funded health coverage plan, not an insurance policy. This means that the premiums collected must cover the cost of benefits utilized. Stay tuned for information about making appointments for assistance in enrolling later this summer.
