July 17-18 Social and Emotional Learning Conference Information

We are EXCITED to welcome attendees to the Social Emotional Learning Summer Conference July 17 and 18 at CMS West. As parking is extremely limited, there will be complimentary shuttle service from Richard J. Lee Elementary to CMS West both days of the conference. Visit http://bit.ly/SELShuttle for the shuttle schedule. The shuttle pick-up and drop-off location is at the entry of each school – Lee is the pick-up spot and CMS West is the drop-off location. Conference goers should still make plans to carpool to either location to conserve parking.

We will offer a lunch menu to conference goers for CASH only payment. The menu and prices are available at bit.ly/SELMenu. If you’re planning to purchase a Chick-Fil-A sandwich, let us know here, so we can be sure to order an accurate amount. A minimum order of 50 sandwiches is required. Please let us know as soon as possible.

We will have a keynote speaker to kick-off the conference on July 17 from the Momentous Institute. Tina Robertson will present a keynote on the topic of “Safe Relationships: The Foundation for Social Emotional Health.” Brooke Sims would like to thank all of the facilitators who are sharing their knowledge at the conference.

If you want to attend, it’s not too late! All members of our CISD family are welcome - this is not limited to classroom educators! District Staff Compliance Trainings Available in Schoology, Due Oct. 3rd

CISD compliance courses for district staff are now available in Schoology. These courses are required by law and must be completed each school year by all CISD staff at the Vonita White, Brock and Service Center buildings. The content in these courses is very important, as compliance training covers local, state and federal requirements. Superintendent Hunt has approved 3 hours of Flex credit and Texas SBEC credit for employees needing either of these options. Use the code below to join the new course and complete required compliance content for the 2019-20 school year. You should plan to complete the trainings by Oct. 3, 2019. Most of the content folders require you to view a presentation and then complete a task. Please pay close attention to all of the directions for each course, as they may differ from one other. We wanted to give you time over the summer to complete the tasks, if you would like to get a head start on completing the content now.

To access a course, visit http://schoology.coppellisd.com, login in with your CISD email and password, then click on “Courses.” The district access code is: H3V4-3KDQ-W3JRR. Teachers and campus employees not in the three administration buildings will receive course invitations for their compliance trainings from their principals in August. Contact Brooke Simms if you have any questions.
