Annual Device Protection Plan Fee for Elementary School Learners for the 2020-2021 School Year
Dear Coppell ISD Elementary Families,
We hope your new school year is off to a successful start!
Since our schools were first closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, elementary students in CISD have for the first time taken their devices home for remote learning. Because the elementary devices are now being at home, we are offering a Device Protection Plan for your student’s district-issued iPad. Starting with the 2020-2021 school year, all elementary parents or guardians are encouraged to pay a $25 non-refundable annual fee for the CISD Device Protection Plan for their child’s school-issued iPads. If you choose to not pay for the CISD Device Protection Plan, you will be responsible for the full cost of repairs or replacement of the device.
The CISD Device Protection Plan helps families to cover repair costs associated with accidental damage of the student 1:1 devices and accessories, stolen devices (with a police report), and product failure (not a result of damage). The CISD Device Protection Plan does NOT cover negligence, willful damage, or lost devices or accessories. In addition to the CISD Device Protection Plan, parents may choose to purchase insurance (through an insurance carrier of your choice) that would cover the scenarios not covered by the CISD Device Protection Plan. You can find more information about the CISD Device Protection Plan on the CISD website: https://www.coppellisd.com/Page/15982
Parents and guardians will use SchoolPay at www.schoolpay.com to pay the annual CISD Device Protection Plan Fee electronically. If you do not have an account, you can create one on www.schoolpay.com directly from the login page. The “iPad - Device Protection Plan 2020-2021” will be among the payment options listed in alphabetical order. You also can use the search bar function to search for the fee that applies to your child/children. You can make payments for multiple children on this site.
If this fee creates a financial hardship, please contact your campus administration or counselor for alternative arrangements.
