Dear CISD Families,
Welcome Back and Happy 2021! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and are ready for a new semester in CISD. As we started our second semester this week, I am in awe of the exceptional work of our students and staff. It was wonderful to see our students both in person and virtually. I continue to be amazed by the hard work and effort everyone provides to our students each day and appreciate the support of our families as we work through challenges together.
And speaking of challenging opportunities, we continue the process of addressing the district's budget deficit. As a reminder we are in the very early stages of this process and much work is ahead of us. We are in a community of well-educated, resourceful and involved individuals who we want to hear from as we work to reduce our deficit budget. We are providing our community with the opportunity to give feedback on this budget process via go.coppellisd.com/budgetfeedback. I encourage you to participate by Jan. 15.
Though I know this will be a difficult process, I truly appreciate how our Board of Trustees are committed to listening and engaging with our community and working with our administrators to tackle the deficit. This group of seven volunteers does an exceptional job with the governance of our district. They give countless hours of time to this district, and I appreciate each one of them. January is School Board Recognition Month in Texas. CISD Trustees are volunteers who shoulder critical responsibilities and often make difficult choices for our district, all without pay. Their goal is always focused on doing what is best for our students and staff. Please join me in sharing our appreciation and thanking them for their efforts on behalf of the children we serve in CISD.
Sincerely,
Dr. Brad Hunt
#CatchupWithHunt Budget Feedback Opportunity

The CISD 2021-2022 Coppell ISD Budget Hub website at www.coppellisd.com/budgethub contains details on the budget process, a frequently asked questions document and more information. We also highly recommend you view previous board meetings and workshops that address the budget process at www.coppellisd.com/board.
