• Industry Certifications

At the School of Engineering, we offer our students the opportunity to earn a number of industry certifications.

    • Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer
    • Certified SolidWorks Associate
    • OSHA 10-Hour General Workplace Safety

We hope to add more in the future as our students become ready for them.

All of our students earn their OSHA 10-Hour General Workplace Safety certification as soon as possible when starting in the program.  We have a lot of projects that require the use of power tools and other potentially dangerous situations.  This helps our students gain the knowledge to work safer and smarter.
SolidWorks is a 3D modeling program used by companies and universities all over the world (MIT, Texas A&M, NASA, Bausch & Lomb …).  We use the software in class for many projects.  The certification level will be beneficial for members of the Solar Car and FIRST Robotics teams.   The software allows us to design the complete project and test it before beginning production.  This software is also a required first step before using the 3D printer as you have to have a digital 3D version of the object being printed.
    Total CSWA Certifications - 10
LabVIEW is a graphical programming language used worldwide for process control, automation, and data collection/analysis.  Over 800 universities (MIT, UT Austin, etc) use LabVIEW.  Over 500 use the same MyDAQ data acquisition devices we use.  Companies also rely on LabVIEW.  SpaceX runs their entire mission control with LabVIEW, the CERN Large Hadron Collider employs LabVIEW, as well as Formula One race cars.  Learners will gain the skills necessary to utilize industry equipment on our Solar Car and FRC Robot.
LabVIEW Academy The School of Engineering is proud to be a LabVIEW Academy.  In this capacity, we are able to offer our students the best pre-college engineering training we can.
