    Mrs. Berumen is the Head Librarian for Coppell ISD. She is an active member of the Texas Library Association, Texas Computer Education Association, and serves as a national advisory board member for the Mackin Educational Resources: Transform Your School Library movement. Mrs. Berumen has previously served the Texas Library Association as a member of the Children’s Round Table Selection Committee, Program Committee, Siddie Joe Johnson Award Committee and co-chair of the Texas Bluebonnet Award Luncheon. Most recently, she served on the Texas State Library Standards steering committee to help develop the newly adopted standards for school libraries in Texas. In addition to her role as Head Librarian in Coppell ISD, Mrs. Berumen will also be supporting and developing a digital library program for New Tech High @ Coppell.

    Mrs. Hevron loves everything about the library! And that is a very good thing since she has been a librarian in CISD for 25 years – opening Town Center Elementary and Coppell Middle School North and now working at Coppell High School. Her greatest library joys include finding that perfect book for her readers, working with student researchers on locating the best information possible, and building teaching relationships with educators within the school. When not at school, she loves spending time with her family -- and reading, of course!

    Mrs. Arritola is beginning her 20th year in education and 16th year as a high school librarian. She is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University. She has worked all across the state of Texas. She is an advocate for literacy and tinkering and is blessed everyday to be in the job of her calling. She believes in a text rich, student centered, transformative space for the students at CHS9 which fosters an environment of learning and wonder. Chin and her husband have two children, Chloe and Penelope. Chin enjoys time with family, friends, and all ways of making beautiful gifts for others.

    Ms. Hill has been the librarian at North since 2012. Previously, she was a 6th grade LA teacher at North from 2002-2009, a 6th grade LA teacher in Leander ISD, and an elementary librarian in Round Rock ISD. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree from Brigham Young University (go Cougars!!!) and Master of Library Science degree from Texas Woman's University, as well as completed a junior fellowship at The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. She loves watching college football, reading and watching sci-fi and fantasy (a huge Star Wars and Harry Potter fan), being involved at church, and spending time with family in Tyler, TX and Odessa, TX.

    Mrs. McConnell began working as the Austin Elementary librarian 9 years ago. Before that she was a librarian at an elementary school in Irving for 9 years and also a 4th & 5th grade teacher for 8 years. Mrs. McConnell is married to Lee, and they have two daughters, Liberty and Trinity, who also attend school in Coppell. Mrs. McConnell loves living in Coppell and seeing all of our Austin Mustangs around town.

    Mrs. Drawbaugh has a Master in Library Science is from North Texas State University, now known as UNT, in Denton, Texas. She came to Coppell ISD in 1990 as the librarian for the original Lee Elementary. When Lee Elementary closed in 2008, Mrs. Drawbaugh moved to Denton Creek Elementary where she has remained to the present time. Mrs. Drawbaugh has two children that both graduated from Coppell High School. She also has 3 granddaughters in Coppell ISD. The two oldest were a part of DCE's dual language program and are now attending North. Her youngest granddaughter is finishing her time at DCE as a 5th grader in the dual language program. Working with educators and students to bring books and reading into the life of kids has been a lifetime passion for Mrs. Drawbaugh. She feels like being a librarian helps her pass on her love of reading.

    Mrs. Mangum is married with two grown children. She earned her Master in Library Science from The University of North Texas. This will be Mrs. Mangum's 3rd year at Richard J. Lee Elementary. Prior to that, she worked for Red Oak ISD for 13 years and Duncanville ISD for 4 years. Mrs. Mangum enjoys gardening, movies and attending plays/musicals.

    Mrs. Hunt received her Master of Library and Information Services from TWU. The 2018-2019 school year will be her 3rd year at Pinkerton and 4th year as a Librarian. Prior to becoming a Librarian Mrs. Hunt taught 3rd and 1st grade for 9 years in Irving ISD. She loves reading and learning new information! Her favorite genre is Historical Fiction and Biography. Mrs. Hunt's favorite books are the Harry Potter series!

    Mrs. Khosla has enjoyed working with students and teachers in CISD since 2015. It is her sixteenth year as an educator in the US. She taught English Language Arts at Irving High School as well as at a High School in India.  She has a Masters degree in English. She completed her Teaching Certification from University of Dallas and Masters of Library Sciences from Texas Woman's University.  She is passionate about building relationships within the school community to make the library experience meaningful for all.  She helps learners by not only connecting them with the "just right" books but also enriching their library experience by connecting them with authors.  She loves to read and shares her passion for books with learners to make them life-long readers.  She also writes book reviews for the Hackberry Creek Living Magazine.

    Mrs. Arvizu is a Texas native and joined Coppell ISD in 2017. Previously Mrs. Arvizu worked in Dallas ISD as a Librarian for 3.5 years and Edinburg ISD as an AP English teacher for 8 years. She holds a Bachelors Degree in English & Graphic Design, a Master of Arts in Literature & Cultural Studies from the University of Texas- Rio Grande Valley and another Master of Arts in Library Information Services from Sam Houston State University. Mrs. Arvizu enjoys promoting her favorite teen reads to Coppell ISD students and sharing with them the benefits of reading for pleasure. In her free time, Mrs. Arvizu enjoys spending time with her husband, working out (specifically CrossFit), movie-going, reading and traveling.

    Mrs. Mahalik joined the CISD family in 2007. She previously served as a Science educator at West, becoming the librarian in 2015. Mrs Mahalik holds a Masters of Library Science from Sam Houston State University. She is the recipient of the 2018 Dr Bonnie Thorne Outstanding Service Award from SHSU Department of Education. Currently, she is serving on the North Texas Teen Book Festival Steering Committee and the TASL MVP Award Committee.

    Mrs. Alaniz has been with CISD since 1998, having taught 3rd and 4th grade at Denton Creek Elementary. After being named Denton Creek's Teacher of the Year in 2008, Mrs. Alaniz was honored to be selected as CISD's District Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2009. Mrs. Alaniz holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas-Austin, a Master's of Education degree from Lamar University, and Master's in Library Science degree from Texas Woman's University. Mrs. Alaniz has been the librarian at Cottonwood Creek since 2013. She is an active member of the American Library Association, the Texas Library Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), the Association for Library Service to Children, and the Children's Literature Assembly. Mrs. Alaniz currently serves as Chair of the 2019 Children's Literature Assembly Notables Committee (NCTE) and is also a member of AASL's 2017-2019 School Library Month Committee. Mrs. Alaniz is an avid reader, book blogger, and children's literature enthusiast. She presents at state and national conferences and is never found without a book.

She has been an Elementary School Library for 32 years. Not many people know what they want to do with their life at three years old, but she did. She loves her job, her school, and Coppell ISD.

Prior to becoming a Librarian Mrs. Mosty taught 3rd and 4th grade, as well as serving as Media Specialist in Irving ISD. Mrs. Mosty enjoys reading children's literature, being crafty, decorating her house and spending time with her family!

    Ms. Parker is the school librarian at Wilson Elementary in Coppell ISD. She has been a librarian for the past 11 years and was a classroom teacher for 7 years prior to becoming a librarian. Ms. Parker is passionate about igniting student creativity through makerspaces, facilitating opportunities for students to connect globally, and supporting lifelong learning.
