Gifts and Gratuities

  • School district officials and employees shall neither solicit nor accept anything of value such as personal gifts, gratuities, favors, or anything of monetary value from a vendor or potential vendor. Although such practices are generally accepted in the private sector, there is substantial possibility that both giving and receiving of such "hospitality" constitutes a Class A misdemeanor offense of "Gift to a Public Servant" if the recipient is a government employee.
