Interested in Becoming a School Board Member?
Coppell ISD and the Region 10 Educational Service
Center will offer informational workshops for
those interested in learning about the rewards and
demands of becoming a trustee and serving on their
local school board.
- Tuesday, February 27th from 7 - 9 p.m. at the
Region 10 ESC (904 Abrams Road/Richardson, TX.)
OR
- Thursday, March 1st from 7 - 8 p.m. at the
Vonita White Administration Bldg. (200 So. Denton
Tap Rd./Coppell, TX.)
The Board application period begins February 10,
2007 and extends through Monday, March 12, 2007.
Although the district will be closed for spring break
the week of March 12th - 16th, applications will be
accepted at the Vonita White Admin. Bldg. on
Monday, March 12th from 2 - 5 p.m. Contact Kay

Education Symposium... You're Invited!
|
It's 2007 and you need to know...What is CISD doing
now and what should they be doing in the future to
ensure students of the district have a global,
competitive advantage in the 21st Century? Join
Superintendent Dr. Jeff Turner and other CISD
administrators in a lively discussion about educational
trends, and creative and successful school models
and what that could look like for Coppell ISD.
The Symposium will be held in two parts at Coppell
High School: Part I will be offered at two
times on Thursday, February 15th from 11 a.m. - 1
p.m. (brown bag) and again from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.;
Part II
will be offered at two times on Thursday,
February 22nd from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (brown bag) and
again from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Visit the "News" section

Take Your Daughter or Son to Work Day
|
The Region 10 Educational Service Center announced
this year's date to observe "Take Your Daughter or
Son to Work Day" as Wednesday, June 6, 2007 which
is also the date that will be observed by Coppell ISD.
The Service Center staff has facilitated the
development of a regional or metropolitan-wide date
over the past several years. Visit the Ms.

CISD Student Designs State's Winning Flag
|
Congratulations to Coppell Middle School East 8th
grader, Joo Choi for creating the state's winning
Texas Art Educator Association's (TAEA) "Youth Art
Month" flag design. Joo's design will appear on a 3' x
5' flag that will represent Texas during Youth Art
Month at celebrations here in the Lone Star State as
well as in Washington, D.C., New York, and
Massachusetts. CMS-East Visual Arts Instructor,
Penny Bonnot, submitted Joo's work which was
selected from among 43 statewide entries. For more

Texas Public Schools Week Coming Soon
|
One Texas. One Vision. All Children. That's
the
theme for this year's Texas Public Schools Week
annual campaign set for March 5th - 9th. Special
events and activities will take place on each
campus: fairs, concerts, tours, exhibits, and "Open
House" nights are some examples of the many ways
CISD will be showcasing the outstanding instruction
that exists throughout the district. Make plans to
visit during this time as Coppell schools proudly join-in
the celebration of over 150 years of public education
in Texas!
