Town Center Elementary is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) campus who seamlessly incorporates technology allowing for constant interactive learning experiences both inside and outside of the school. Educators and learners leverage a variety of technology tools as powerful and current resources for learning, creating and communicating both locally and globally. Blended and flipped lesson strategies are utilized to allow for voice and choice in learning experiences. These strategies also help to provide learners opportunities to work at their own pace and focus on their specific learning needs. Educators and learners use tools like Skype, Google Docs, Edmodo and Google Sites for collaboration and communication tools. Formative and summative assessments for learners are created through formats using tools such as QR codes, Nearpod, Educreations and Screencastomatic. Learners also have numerous ways in which to showcase their depth of understanding and share it with peers, educators, parents and the community. Technology is an integral part of our Texan Town sessions on Fridays where learners showcase their abilities and talents with programs such as our KTEX broadcasting, Scratch computer programming, Online General Store and TCE Publicity.
