• Social studies is an integrated curriculum which increases students' understanding of their role as a citizen in the community, state, nation, and world. Students acquire and use critical thinking skills to understand the diversity necessary to thrive in an interdependent world. Therefore, students will think creatively and reflect about the past to connect to the present in order to solve recurring and future problems. As a result of their social studies education, they are prepared to be active citizens in a democratic society.
