Mr. Adrian Caswell
Mr. Caswell serves as an Associate Director of Bands at Coppell HS. He conducts the Symphonic Band 1, Concert Band 1, directs the Jazz Ensemble, and oversees the visual caption of the marching band. This is his fourteenth year teaching and fifth year at Coppell.
Prior to joining Coppell, Mr. Caswell taught at Wakeland HS. During his tenure at Wakeland HS, the marching band became one of the leading visual ensembles in the country, culminating in a 5th place finish in the visual caption at the 2014 BOA Grand National Championships and receiving a perfect marching technique score at the UIL State marching contest. Mr. Caswell began his teaching career at Stephen F. Austin HS in Sugar Land, Texas. While at Stephen F. Austin HS, the marching band was a 2-time Bands of America Grand Nationals Finalist (2007 and 2010) and a three-time Bands of America Houston Regional Champion (2007, 2009, and 2010).
Mr. Caswell attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned his Bachelors of Music in Music Education. While at UT, he studied trumpet with Ray Sasaki and performed in the Symphony Band and Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Robert Carnochan and Mr. Jerry Junkin. Mr. Caswell also served as a section leader in the Longhorn Band and was featured as a soloist during his junior and senior years.
Mr. Caswell also performed as a five-year member of The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps (Allentown, Pennsylvania). He served as the horn sergeant in 2004 and 2005, leading The Cadets to a World Championship. In 2009, he joined the Visual Staff of The Cadets.
Mr. Caswell is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Kappa Kappa Psi. He currently resides in McKinney with his wife, Jenny, and children, Lilah and William.
