SAT Recommendations
Seventh grade:- Each day, go to College Board and complete "The Official SAT Question of the Day." This is a free service that takes less than five minutes. After answering, a full explanation of the correct answer is provided.
Eighth grade:
- Each day, go to College Board and complete "The Official SAT Question of the Day." This is a free service that takes less than five minutes. After answering, a full explanation of the correct answer is provided.
Freshmen:
- Take two full practice tests that will provide an itemized report of strengths and weaknesses.
Sophomores:
- Take two full practice tests that will provide an itemized report of strengths and weaknesses.
- Coppell ISD administers the PSAT/NMSQT test in October at no cost to all tenth grader learners as practice for the National Merit qualifying test.
Juniors:
- Take the SAT Prep Course that includes two practice exams.
- Coppell ISD administers the PSAT/NMSQT test in October at no cost to any eleventh grade learner who wishes to take the test. The scores from this test can qualify a student for a National Merit Scholarship.
- In January, take the actual SAT test for the first time.
- If needed, re-take SAT during May/June.
Seniors:
- Last recommended date for seniors to take the SAT is in October.
