        SAT Recommendations

        Seventh grade:

        • Each day, go to College Board and complete "The Official SAT Question of the Day." This is a free service that takes less than five minutes. After answering, a full explanation of the correct answer is provided.

        Eighth grade:

        • Each day, go to College Board and complete "The Official SAT Question of the Day." This is a free service that takes less than five minutes. After answering, a full explanation of the correct answer is provided.

        Freshmen:

        • Take two full practice tests that will provide an itemized report of strengths and weaknesses.

        Sophomores:

        • Take two full practice tests that will provide an itemized report of strengths and weaknesses.
        • Coppell ISD administers the PSAT/NMSQT test in October at no cost to all tenth grader learners as practice for the National Merit qualifying test. 

        Juniors:

        • Take the SAT Prep Course that includes two practice exams.
        • Coppell ISD administers the PSAT/NMSQT test in October at no cost to any eleventh grade learner who wishes to take the test. The scores from this test can qualify a student for a National Merit Scholarship. 
        • In January, take the actual SAT test for the first time. 
        • If needed, re-take SAT during May/June.

        Seniors:

        • Last recommended date for seniors to take the SAT is in October.
