CISD Trustees Elected/ School Bond Passes
Coppell ISD school board and bond elections for Coppell Independent School District ended on Saturday, May 9. Incumbent school board members Cindy Warner (Pl. 6) and Bennett Ratliff (Pl. 7) were re-elected as trustees for the district and both were unopposed for 3-year terms. Warner, currently serving as President of the Board, received 1414 votes and will begin her 4th 3-year term of service to the district this month. Ratliff , with 1352 votes, currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Trustees having served on the Board since 2003.In addition, both propositions in the CISD bond election passed for $55,900,000: Proposition 1 for $40,900,000 had 1,382 votes “for” and 501 votes “against”; Proposition 2 for $15,000,000 passed with 1,347 votes “for” to 499 votes “against.”President Cindy Warner said, “We are very grateful to a supportive community that understands the importance of this bond election, and its impact on our ability to maintain our outstanding schools. We realize that these are tough economic times, and will continue to work diligently to be good stewards of our taxpayers' dollars.”
