Over $26,000 in Grants Given to CISD Campuses
The Education Foundation recently surprised teachers on nine CISD campuses with balloons, big checks and the news that they'd received an innovative teaching grant. This fall, the Foundation awarded nine grants totaling $26,111.51 to benefit CISD students and teachers. The grants are spread among nine campuses: Austin, Denton Creek, Mockingbird, Pinkerton, Town Center and Wilson Elementaries; CMS East and West; and Coppell High School.
These grants will provide for a variety of programs in various subject areas, including: History, Reading, Science, Writing, Communication, Multimedia, and an Anti-Bullying Program. To view summaries of each grant, click the PDF in the resource box.
The Coppell ISD Education Foundation is a 501©(3) nonprofit corporation chartered in June 2000 to provide financial support to the District in addition to what is provided by the Coppell ISD operating budget. And this year, as before, the Education Foundation is living out their mission statement of giving back to CISD to fund innovative teaching programs to help the District fulfill its mission of excellence in education. And the Education Foundation has now given over $700,000 in grants to CISD campuses since its start in 2000.
