• Hands-On Activities Could Teach Kids Nationwide

Jodie Deinhammer’s Anatomy and Physiology students participated in a competition sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and they recently learned that 21 of their projects made it to the finals! Deinhammer learned of the competition through a tweet that challenged her science students to develop hands-on lab investigations that could be conducted in an elementary classroom to teach concepts related to health and nutrition to students. Those activities are currently being shared with teachers across Coppell ISD. The prize: student winners will be published in a NIH Supplemental Lab manual available to any teacher in the United States.
