NTH@C Named Apple Distinguished School
New Tech High @ Coppell was selected as an Apple Distinguished School for the 2010-2011 school year. Only 52 schools nationwide received this honor, including only one other school in Texas – Manor New Technology High School.
NTH@C Director Tabitha Branum said, “This is an important award for our New Tech team and learners and we are all very excited! It's such an honor to be recognized by Apple for our efforts in leveraging technology for the 21st century learner.”
According to Apple, this designation is reserved for schools that have become centers of educational excellence and leadership, consistently demonstrating “best practice” qualities of a 21st century learning environment utilizing Apple technology. The company noted they were impressed by the teaching culture at NTH@C where teachers are guides to students rather than providers of information.
Apple will formally recognize NTH@C Director Tabitha Branum at an upcoming CISD School Board meeting.
