• NTH@C Director Accepts New Position

Later this summer, Tabitha Branum, Director for New Tech High @ Coppell, will return to central administration when she assumes her new role as the district's Director of Strategic Initiatives. Branum earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees (in Education Administration) from the University of North Texas. She also holds a Principal Certification and will complete her Superintendent Certification, from Abilene Christian University, in December 2011.

Mrs. Branum's educational career began in the middle school classroom 14 years ago. She has served the Coppell ISD at the secondary level since August 2000 in the roles of Curriculum Director, Associate Principal for Coppell High School, and, most recently, Director for New Tech High which she opened in 2008.

Having thoroughly enjoyed her campus leadership experience, of her latest assignment Branum said, "My new position will allow me to broaden my professional perspective, focus on helping 10,000 students realize the vision of our strategic plan, and spend more time with my family. I will miss my New Tech extended family but look forward to applying my knowledge of 21st century learning and innovation to make a difference on a broader scale."
No date has been determined for the move but August, or before, seems feasible. In the meantime, Mrs. Branum will assist in the interview process for her replacement and vows her continued support of NTH@C through this leadership transition and beyond as needed.
