Texas Projection Measures (TPM) Predicts CISD Exemplary
Coppell ISD is anticipating an Exemplary accountability rating, the highest rating available, when the Texas Education Agency (TEA) announces accountability ratings on July 30. TPM, the Texas Projection Measure, projects students' scores in the future by using their current year scores as well as campus average scores. It gives a projection for each student in each subject, indicating whether or not they are projected to meet the standard in grades 5, 8, and 11, after receiving that grade level instruction. This is only a prediction, but all of the state raw data and TPM projections suggest that Coppell ISD will be rated by the state as an Exemplary district for 2009-2010.
“We are very proud that our preliminary results show that our students scored well on the state assessments. Most impressive is the percentage of our students who performed at the Commended level. This is due to the quality of instruction that our teachers provide and the level of support we receive from our parents and the community. However, we consider this level of achievement as just the beginning for Coppell ISD as we strive to be the ‘Best of the 21st Century,'” noted Rhonda Carr, Director of Assessment and Accountability.
In addition to announcing accountability ratings on July 30, the TEA will also release information on graduation rates and Gold Performance Acknowledgements.
