CISD Foundation Will Honor Students and Teachers
For the ninth consecutive year, the CISD Education Foundation will host the Student/Teacher Academic Recognition Banquet. The theme for this year's banquet is “I Hope You Dance” and the event is set for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4th at the Marriott Hotel DFW Airport (8440 Freeport Parkway, Irving, Texas).
The Foundation will honor 36 students, comprising the “Top 5%” of Coppell High School's 2010 graduating class. These students have selected 36 CISD teachers, across seven campuses, who they believe have most positively impacted them in both the classroom and life. In addition, the 14 campus “Teachers of the Year,” as a part of the National “Teacher of the Year” award program, will be recognized. Superintendent Dr. Jeff Turner will announce one elementary and one secondary teacher as the “District Teachers of the Year;” they will go on to represent CISD at the regional level.
A Foundation annual fundraiser, the banquet table sponsorships sold will ensure that this event and other funding priorities of the Foundation continue and that the 86 teachers and students being honored, as well as their immediate families, will enjoy an evening of celebration and recognition for the educational accomplishments being acknowledged. Those interested in sponsoring a teacher or student table should contact Teressa Taylor in the CISD Education Foundation's Office of Development on or before April 26th at 214.496.6054 or order online after April 1, 2010 at http://www.coppellisdef.com/.
