• Over 3,000 Turkeys Donated

    The 7th annual Kids 4 Turkeys Drive was the most successful to date! A total of 3,052 frozen turkeys were donated amongst the campuses, plus an additional 110 online donations were received, for a grand total of 3,162 turkeys.

    Each school contributed to the overall success, with the following number of turkeys donated:

    - New Tech High @ Coppell – 175

    - Coppell High School – 415

    The Food Bank will distribute the turkeys to its 400 Member Agencies in 13 North Texas counties. Kids 4 Turkeys was created by Cottonwood Creek Elementary P.E. teacher Tammy Gilstrap and has become the model for developing similar service learning activities in school districts across the state. What began as a single campus donation of 200 turkeys its first year has grown to a community-wide donation of some 3,000, as Coppell becomes a “Turkey Town” with the common goal to feed those in need.
