SAT Scores are at the Top
Coppell High School 2010 graduates set a new district record by earning an average composite score of 1714 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), with a breakdown of 599 in mathematics, 558 in reading, and 557 in writing. This is a total of 17 points higher than 2009 average, including a 9 point increase in the writing portion. The SAT scores put CISD well above the national and state averages of 1509 and 1462 respectively.
The 10 year trend, from 2001 to 2010, shows an increase in CISD student achievement based on SAT scores in the areas of critical reading and mathematics (writing was not reported as a score section until 2006). Coppell High School has increased from 1095 in 2001 to 1157 in 2010: an increase of 62 points. In the same time frame, the national average has decreased by 3 points and the Texas average has decreased by 2 points.
