• Final State Ratings Released

Final accountability ratings from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) have been released and Coppell ISD has, once again, retained its rating of “Recognized.” In addition, eight of the nine elementary campuses were designated “Exemplary.” Two of the three middle school campuses also earned an “Exemplary” rating, including CMS West which has previously been "Recognized." New Tech High @ Coppell, in its first year, received an “Exemplary” rating. Wilson Elementary, Coppell Middle School East and Coppell High School earned the rating of “Recognized.”

“We're excited about these ratings; however, the goals for students in CISD far exceed success on a one-time state test,” said CISD Superintendent Dr. Jeff Turner.

Districts and campuses rated Academically Acceptable or higher in 2009 may be acknowledged for high performance on a number of indicators under the Gold Performance Acknowledgment (GPA) system. These acknowledgments will be issued in late October 2009.
