"The Discussion" is Back!
During the 2010-2011 school year, CISD Superintendent Dr. Jeff Turner will continue to host the series of monthly forums entitled “The Discussion.” These forums began in October 2009 as a way to provide the community an opportunity to hear the latest educational trends, best practices, and dialogue about initiatives and their importance.
The first “Discussion” of the school year will be a “brown bag lunch session” on Wednesday, October 13 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Coppell High School Lecture Hall. The topic of Future Ready Students will address the many ways in which CISD is on the cutting edge in preparing students for the future. It will also cover what we are doing now and will be doing in the future to ensure students' continued success.
The remaining fall dates for “The Discussion” have been set for Wednesdays, November 17 and December 15 at 12:30 p.m. in the CHS Lecture Hall. The November session will cover technology in the classroom and, the December “Discussion” will take a closer look at student engagement at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
Parking for each “brown bag” session will be available on the home side of the football stadium where free shuttle transportation will begin at 12:15 p.m.
Following each “Discussion,” video and other materials will be posted on “The Discussion” section of the CISD website (found under About CISD, Superintendent). Also, check this section for future “Discussion” dates and topics.
