Education Foundation Awards Over $56,000
On November 12, the Education Foundation hit the schools with their balloons and big checks to deliver Grant Awards. This fall, the foundation awarded 14 grants totaling $56,570 to benefit 50 CISD teachers. The 14 grants are spread among eight campuses: Mockingbird, Pinkerton, Town Center, and Valley Ranch Elementaries; CMS East, North, and West; and Coppell High School.
These grants will provide for a variety of programs in various subject areas, including: a future engineer program and a virtual math game for all three middle schools, LEGO mindstorm robots and a garden at the elementary level, and a 3D human anatomy model and a Weatherbug weather station at CHS, and several others. (Please see each campus web site for detailed information regarding specific grants and totals per campus).
The Coppell ISD Education Foundation is a 501©(3) nonprofit corporation chartered in June 2000 to provide financial support to the District in addition to what is provided by the Coppell ISD operating budget. And this year, as before, the Education Foundation is living out their mission statement of giving back to CISD to fund innovative teaching programs to help the District fulfill its mission of excellence in education. And the Education Foundation has now given over $600,000 in grants to CISD campuses since its start in 2000.
