• Cowgirls Take 5A State Soccer Championship

The CHS Varsity Soccer Team left April 8 for the 5A State Soccer Tournament in Austin. April 10, the Cowgirls faced the team ranked number one in the U.S., the undefeated San Antonio Reagan Rattlers. The hard fought game ended in double overtime with a goal by Junior Alyssa D. and a score of 1-0, placing them in the state championship game.

Coppell went head-to-head with Conroe The Woodlands Saturday, April 11, the team with a record 24 shutouts. The Cowgirls took a 1-0 lead into half-time, followed by a second half of back-and-forth scoring. With 6 minutes remaining in the game, Coppell reclaimed the lead and finished the game with a 3-2 victory.

“This team was special because it wasn't about individual glory; it was about playing hard for each other and the name on the front of the jersey. They grew as a team, improved every game, and met every challenge,” said Head Coach Chris Stricker.

The Cowgirls finished the season as the District, Regional, and 5A State Champs.
