• CISD Foundation Recognizes Students and Teachers

Directors for the Coppell ISD Education Foundation say it's not too late to buy a table!

For the eighth consecutive year, the CISD Education Foundation will host the Student/Teacher Academic Recognition Banquet. The theme for this year's banquet is “My Wish For You” and the event is set for Tuesday, May 5th from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel DFW Airport (8440 Freeport Parkway/Irving, Texas).

The Foundation will honor 34 students, comprising the “Top 5%” of this year's graduating class from Coppell High School, along with 34 CISD teachers, who they believe have most positively impacted them in both the classroom and life. In addition, the 14 campus “Teachers of the Year,” as a part of the National “Teacher of the Year” award program, will be recognized. Superintendent Dr. Jeff Turner will announce one elementary and one secondary teacher as the “District Teachers of the Year;” they will go on to represent CISD at the regional level.

According to Foundation President Shawnee Ingrum, “This event just gets bigger every year and we believe it is because our community holds its students and teachers in such high regard. We consider ourselves fortunate to have such an outstanding school system, and with close to 450 in attendance, this event has proven to be great way for local businesses and individuals to publicly honor and support the excellence that exists all across CISD. This type of recognition is a ‘win-win' for the Foundation and Coppell ISD and could not otherwise be supported with school district resources.”

A Foundation annual fundraiser, the banquet table sponsorships sold will ensure that this event and other funding priorities of the Foundation continue and that the 82 teachers and students being honored, as well as their immediate families, will enjoy an evening of celebration and recognition for the educational accomplishments being acknowledged. Those interested in sponsoring a teacher or student table should contact Mrs. Teressa Taylor in the CISD Education Foundation's Office of Development on or before April 30th at 214.496.6054.
