Turner Named 2010–11 Vice President
The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) Executive Committee recently elected Superintendent Dr. Jeff Turner to serve as association vice president. A member of the association for 16 years, he has represented Region 10 on the TASA Executive Committee since 2007. He has also served TASA as a mentor superintendent, study group chair (2005-06), Communications & Technology Committee chair (2008), and Leadership Development Committee chair (2009).
The Executive Committee is the primary decision-making body of TASA providing a forum to address a variety of issues through interaction with other state and national education-related organizations, as well as maintenance of a broad membership representation.
The 24 members, legislative committee chairman, and four officers work with TASA's executive director and staff to conduct the business of the association. Those who are invited to serve represent a cross-section of membership to ensure diverse needs are met and opinions are heard. Dr. Turner's one year term will begin June 1, 2010.
