New Teacher Gathering a Hit!
In a partnership between Coppell ISD, the City of Coppell, and the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, nearly 70 new teachers for CISD were welcomed, sponsored, and treated to breakfast and goodie bags filled with items sure to make any new teacher smile! Hosted by Coppell Middle School North, the annual event kicks off training and staff development for the new teachers and is typically their first opportunity to meet the city and school district's top administrators, elected officials, and local business representatives.
This group of educators, while smaller in number, was equally enthusiastic and excited to be a part of the CISD team as larger groups of years past. Teachers were given their first assignment when they were challenged to think out of the box about ways to make their mark and engage their students in the learning. According to Chamber of Commerce President, Tony Moline, "This was my first time to participate and I thought it was fantastic!" Door prizes, donated by local businesses, included steak dinners, gas cards, cash, an iPod Shuffle, and much more: there was something for everyone!
