• Latest Ratings Released

Final accountability ratings from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) were released and Coppell ISD earned the rating of "Recognized." Eight of the nine elementary campuses as well as Coppell Middle School East all earned "Exemplary" campus ratings and six of the remaining campuses in the district: Wilson Elementary, Coppell Middle School North, Coppell Middle School West, New Tech High @ Coppell, and Coppell High School were all rated "Recognized."

CISD Director of School Improvement Dr. Mechelle Bryson said, "I am proud of the work of our students and staff. Our students performed well on a variety of tests this year including the state assessment, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). We will continue to aggressively assess the data and plan teaching strategies that will help us narrow the focus of our instructional efforts as we begin a new school year under a new accountability system STAAR (State Assessments of Academic Readiness)."

National accountability results were also released under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act and all 14 campuses in Coppell ISD were again reported to have "Met AYP" (Annual Yearly Progress). Principals will begin to share the individual campus data with staff and parents in the coming weeks. Meantime, visit the TEA website for a complete listing of all state and national accountability data at www.tea.state.tx.us.
