Changing Your Apple ID to a Non CISD Email Address

As part of a change to eliminate multiple usernames and passwords for school accounts, Apple has introduced the ability for you to be able to login to your Managed Apple ID by using your regular school email address. If you are a current (2018-2019) 10th, 11th or 12th grade student or a current staff member, you soon will be able to use your @coppellisd.com, @g.coppellisd.com, or @newtech.coppellisd.com and your same domain password to login to your Managed Apple ID.

However, in order for this change to occur, CISD has had to reclaim those email addresses from personal/consumer Apple ID accounts. As  a result, Apple will be sending out emails to personal/consumer Apple ID accounts that currently are set up with @coppellisd.com, @g.coppellisd.com, and @newtech.coppellisd.com email address informing you that you will need to change the email address associated with this account in order to continue to use it. This is only going to change the email address tied to this account. No information or purchases will be lost or deleted from these accounts. If you choose to ignore the emails, your account will be assigned a temporary login provided by Apple, and the CISD affiliated email address will be removed from your account. You will then need to talk with Apple support to regain access to that account.

In summary, if you currently have a personal Apple ID that is setup with a CISD affiliated email address, you will be asked to change that email address to something this is not associated with CISD. If you do not make these changes, Apple will deactivate your account, and you will need to talk with them to get it back.

These emails will start to go out in the coming days to CISD staff and current (2018-2019) 10th, 11th and 12th grade students who currently have a CISD affiliated email address as an Apple ID. These are legitimate emails from Apple, and action is required on your part.
