Angela Brown Selected as Executive Director of Communications and Community Engagement
Coppell ISD is pleased to announce that the CISD Board of Trustees approved Angela Brown as the district’s new Executive Director of Communications and Community Engagement during their meeting June 24th.
Angela brings a wealth of school district communications and community engagement experience to CISD, having most recently served as the Chief Communications Officer for Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. Her extensive school district experience includes almost 20 years with CFBISD, where she worked on many successful campaigns, including a Tax Ratification Election and a Bond Election. She also was a teacher in CFBISD prior to moving into communications and community engagement.
“I am humbled and honored to serve as the Executive Director of Communications and Community Engagement for CISD, an educational leader in this nation,” Angela said. “I look forward to getting to know and developing relationships with district staff, parents, students and community. I believe engaging all community stakeholders in our education system in a meaningful way will have a lasting impact on the lives of all of our students and families.”
Angela received her Bachelor’s Degree from Dallas Baptist University and her Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from Lamar University. She also is a Certified Public Communicator (CPC) from Texas Christian University. Additionally, Angela has taught several classes at Dallas Christian College in the field of education. Angela and her husband, Aaron, live in Denton with their daughter, Marina, who attends the University of North Texas.
Angela will start at CISD Monday, July 1st.
