iPad Connectivity Issues
Dear Coppell ISD Middle School, CHS9 and Coppell High School Students and Families,
Coppell ISD is aware that many of our families are experiencing difficulty connecting to the Internet at home and at some of our campuses with the district issued iPad devices, which is creating issues in accessing and turning in assignments. Our CISD Technology Department has identified the problem, which is that two of our four VPN (Virtual Private Network) servers are not passing traffic. Therefore, depending on what server a student’s iPad hits, it either made the connection or it did not.
Our Technology staff has removed the two problematic servers from our VPN pools, but we are waiting on these changes to update online, so the district issued iPads do not try to use these two VPN servers. We expect this issue to resolve in about a week.
Meanwhile, all of our teachers are aware of these connectivity issues, and there will not be any academic penalties for students who cannot turn in or access assignments due to this problem.
We thank you in advance for your patience as we work to resolve this issue and apologize for the inconvenience it has caused. We also will continue to provide updates as they become available.
