Return to School Update — Student Zoom Sign In Update & More

Dear Coppell ISD Families,

As we complete our second week of school, we want to thank our teachers, staff, families and students for the amazing work you are all doing.  Working together, we are fulfilling our mission of creating profound learning experiences for each child, while nurturing meaningful relationships, to positively impact our world.

In case you haven’t yet seen it, here is our School PPE video at, so you can see how schools will look on Tuesday, Sept. 8, when the in person option begins for those that chose it.  Our Return to School Guide and Frequently Asked Questions at also have details on in person learning.

Also, starting Monday, Aug. 31, CISD will be requiring all learners to sign into Zoom using their CISD email address. This change will allow for better classroom management and will limit disruptions in the event the meeting link is shared to people outside of the district. If your child is using a Zoom account not associated with their CISD email address, the next time they sign in, they will need to use their CISD login information — or —  to join the meeting.  See instructions at : If your child is already using their CISD email address to sign into Zoom, they will need to consolidate their account to be managed by the district. Learn more here:

In addition, the district is encouraging families to pay a $25 non-refundable annual fee for the CISD Device Protection Plan for their child’s school-issued iPads. (New Tech High @ Coppell families are encouraged to pay a $40 non-refundable annual fee for the CISD Device Protection Plan for their child’s school-issued Macbooks.)  If you choose to not pay for the CISD Device Protection Plan, you will be responsible for the full cost of repairs or replacement of the device. Middle and High School families, please visit for details. Elementary families, please visit for information. You can visit to pay for the Device Protection Plan. If this fee creates a financial hardship, please contact your campus administration or counselor for alternative arrangements.

There is a correction to the district’s Aug. 27 Informed Newsletter.  While CISD Trustees approved the 2020-2021 Budget at their Aug. 24 meeting, the vote to adopt the district’s Tax Rate will occur during the Sept. 14 Board Workshop.  This is due to the recent release of final certified tax values from the Dallas Central Appraisal District.  Please visit for more information.

Thank you for your support of our district at the start of the school year.  We appreciate our families, as we are stronger, together as we partner to educate our children.
