CISD Adjusts COVID-19 Quarantine Requirements
Dear Coppell ISD Community,
The Center for Disease Control (CDC), along with the Texas Education Agency, have released a revised option for ending a quarantine earlier than the current 14-day period. This option is for asymptomatic individuals in quarantine for close contact exposure and is not available to those in isolation with COVID-19 symptoms or due to a positive test.
Beginning today, Coppell ISD will implement this new option, as appropriate, to those students and staff that meet the criteria and are in quarantine for close contact exposure with a positive COVID-19 case. The 14-day quarantine option still remains for those who wish to use it.
- For asymptomatic individuals
- No testing is required
- May return to school/work on day 11
- Must continue to monitor for symptoms through day 14
- Must continue to wear a mask through day 14*
- If symptoms develop, must isolate for 10 days
*CISD has mask requirements outlined in the Return to School Guide.
For CISD employees, the COVID-19 Case Manager will work with each staff member to determine the appropriate quarantine time period. For students, the campus nurse and administration will work with the student and their family to determine the appropriate quarantine time period.
