Boys Cross Country Team Places 3rd at State

Cross CountryThe Coppell Cowboys’ Cross Country team finished 3rd in the State UIL 6A Championship held Nov. 4 in Round Rock. Senior Andrew Mullen finished 7th and wraps up his high school cross country career with three consecutive State Championship appearances, two top 10 State 6A finishes, two top 10 Region 1-6A finishes and three top 10 District 6-6A finishes. Congratulations to the Cowboys Varsity Cross Country Team of seniors Vedant Bhattacharyya, Cameron Churchill-Dowd, Kavin Chengavarayan, Samuel Martinson and Andrew Mullen; and juniors Henry Henze and Samarth Dubey. The team is led by Head Coach Landron Wren and Assistant Coaches Don Kemp, John Robbins and Maddie Younger. “I felt like the athletes had to battle harder than they have had to at any meet this year,” said Coach Wren. “To me, that proves what I already knew about them — they have a rarely seen determination. I am so unbelievably proud and happy that their season ended the way it did.”
