CHS9 Safety Message May 23, 2019

Dear CHS9 Family,

Last night, we received several tips about a social media post with a possible threat to our campus on the last day of school.  We notified the Coppell Police Department, which investigated the situation and determined the threat was not credible.  As a precaution, there will be extra police on and around campus today, in addition to our school resource officers.  Extra police presence also is a typical practice on the last day of school.

I would like to take this opportunity to commend our students who saw the post and reported it to CHS9 staff, as well as thank those who shared the information via the CISD anonymous tip line. We are a #CHS9Family, and as such look out for and care for one another while following “If you see something; say something.” Please know that you or your students can talk to me or our assistant principals, school resource officers, counselors, or teachers about your concerns at any time.  CISD’s anonymous tip line is online at www.coppellisd.com/tipline or by calling 972-436-TIPS (8477).

Providing the safest possible learning environment for our students is our highest priority.

Sincerely,

Cody Koontz
