Eric Lozano is the new Director of Child Nutrition for CISD
A child who is well fed will do better in school. This is the philosophy of Coppell ISD’s new Director of Child Nutrition Eric Lozano, who brings a depth of experience and a service-focused mindset to his new role. He wants the CISD Child Nutrition Department to continue to have a positive impact on students every day under his leadership. A 25-year veteran of the food service industry who has spent the last 10 years in school nutrition, Lozano is replacing retiring Child Nutrition Director Jean Mosely.
“The Child Nutrition Department plays a vital role in the educational process of our students, and I take that responsibility very seriously,” Lozano said. “We want to provide our students and staff with delicious, nutritionally-balanced meal options with a variety of choices and amazing customer service.”
Lozano continued, “The students are our primary focus, and we want to do whatever it takes to provide them a great dining experience so they can have a great day of learning at school.”
Prior to joining CISD in February, Lozano worked in child nutrition leadership positions for the last 10 years at Midlothian ISD, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and Plano ISD, where he served as the Assistant Director of Child Nutrition.
“My combined experience in the restaurant industry and working for Child Nutrition Programs in small, medium and large school districts have paved the way and prepared me for this position at CISD,” Lozano said. “CISD has a great reputation and their Child Nutrition Program is well known throughout the industry as a program of high regard. I am truly excited about this opportunity and look forward to continuing its tradition of excellence.”
Jean Mosely will retire from CISD in June after more than 30 years of service to the district. She and Lozano will work together during the transition.
