Youth Art Month: Student Artists Display Talent
The talent of CISD student artists is on display during Youth Art Month (YAM). Madalyn Jaquish, an 8th grader at CMS East, and Isabella Lucio, a sophomore at CHS, are state winners and will have their artwork exhibited at the YAM State Capitol Exhibit from March 7 to March 21. Andy Coffey, a 7th grader at CMS East, won the YAM State Flag competition for middle school and her work was chosen as the overall winner for the state flag design competition. The National Art Education Association’s Annual Youth Art Month is celebrated each March and is recognized throughout all fifty states as a special time to celebrate and promote the importance of quality school art programs for all children.
