Principal Announcements & Updates

North parents,

I want to share two important pieces of information with you today.

First, it is Teacher Appreciation Week! As you know, our teachers at CMS North are extraordinary and they go above and beyond for our students. During the current school closure and CISD Distance Learning, our teachers have worked even harder to overcome never-before-seen challenges. I have a favor to ask of you. Would you please take a moment to complete this Teacher Appreciation Week Shout-out form to recognize and celebrate a deserving teacher (or teachers)? Thank you in advance.

Second, we are in the process of finalizing our plans for the end-of-year student materials return and distribution. There are several things that we need to distribute to your students (for example, yearbooks, medication, locker room contents, pawprint stickers, theater pictures, band instruments, and art portfolios/supplies). There are also several things we need to collect from your students (for example, library books, textbooks, calculators, band instruments, and athletics uniforms/equipment).

You will be able to both collect and return items on the same day so you will only need to make one trip to the school to take care of all of the above items. Here is the schedule:

May 13 - 6th grade

May 14 - 7th grade

May 15 - 8th grade

On each day, please adhere to the following last name breakdown and times:

8:30am - 9:30am = last names A-G

9:30am - 10:30am = last names H-M

10:30am - 11:30am = last names N-S

11:30am - 12:30pm = last names T-Z

We will utilize the front and back loops of the school in a drive-thru pattern with different stations for different items. All parents and students will remain in your vehicles and our staff will take all recommended safety precautions during our interactions.

Please be on the lookout for another email from me soon with a traffic flow map and more information on the stations and procedures for this event. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.

All my best,

Dr. Greg Axelson | Principal
