SPECIAL EVENT! Last Day of School
North parents, guardians, and students,
The end of the school year is upon us. Although the year has ended in an unprecedented way, it's still time to celebrate a wonderful year and to congratulate our students on reaching the finish line.
To recognize our wonderful students and parents, we are hosting a special "reverse parade" at the school on Thursday, May 21. We hope this will be a fun way to mark the end of the school year and to kick off our summer break. Here are the details:
The entire North staff is going to line the sidewalks of the CMSN and DCE properties, including portions of Natches Trace. All parents and students are invited to drive through the specially designed route (see map below) to wave and cheer and say goodbye for the summer. If you want to decorate your car, make signs, bring balloons or other celebratory items, please do! This is going to be a drive-thru party!
As we did with the student materials distribution and return events on May 13-15, we will practice social distancing and other recommended healthcare precautions during this event. No students or parents can exit your vehicles and we will refrain from all physical contact. We also ask that all vehicles remain in a single-file line and that everyone has a great time.
Finally, it will be essential that everyone come during your student's grade level's assigned time slot and that everyone follow the prescribed parade route in the map below.
- 6th Grade from 9:00am - 9:30am
- 7th Grade from 9:30am - 10:00am
- 8th Grade from 10:00am - 10:30am
Thank you so much in advance for participating and helping us find a way to meaningfully mark the end of a special, memorable school year.
All my best,
Dr. Greg Axelson | Principal
PARADE ROUTE: All vehicles will enter the route going east on Natches Trace. You will proceed past the front loop of CMSN and DCE before taking the northbound curve of Natches Trace and entering the DCE cafeteria loop. You will complete the DCE cafeteria loop and return to Natches Trace heading west. You will next enter the CMSN front loop and complete the loop before once again turning westbound onto Natches Trace. Finally, you will enter the CMSN bus loop, complete the loop, and exit westbound onto Natches Trace before heading for home. We will have staff along the entire route helping to guide you and cheer on your students.
