Coppell ISD announces that Dwight Goodwin has been selected as the district’s new Executive Director of Technology. Goodwin brings more than thirty years of educational experience to Coppell ISD having served as a teacher, Instructional Technology Specialist, and District Technology Administrator.

“Together with the amazing team already in Coppell ISD, I will strive to systematically build and maintain a robust infrastructure that empowers the staff to construct a 21st-Century classroom and work environment that establishes communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking," Goodwin said. 

Goodwin earned his undergraduate degree at Abilene Christian University and his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas. He began his career in Wylie ISD, where he taught history. Subsequent teaching and administrative positions were in Hurst-Euless Bedford ISD, Birdville ISD, Cedar Hill ISD, Denton ISD and Arlington ISD. Having recently served as the Executive Director of Technology in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, Goodwin comes to Coppell ISD with a vast array of technical and educational experience and knowledge. 

Goodwin is the father of three teenage children, Scout, Ryder and Liza, and enjoys spending time with his family, golfing and gardening. 

He will begin in CISD on January 2, 2024, and he is replacing Stephen McGilvray, who took another position in McKinney ISD.
