Winter Weather Image

Coppell ISD officials are actively monitoring the weather for Monday, Jan. 15 and Tuesday, Jan. 16, as forecasters are currently predicting possible winter weather and extreme cold temperatures in our area. Even though CISD is closed on Monday, Jan. 15 for the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday, there are some fine arts rehearsals, academic competitions, athletic practices and other district activities that are scheduled for that day.  If these activities are canceled or rescheduled, the affected students and families will hear directly from their child’s teacher, coach or adviser via email, so we encourage you to monitor your email over the weekend.

As a reminder, if CISD closes schools due to inclement weather, the decision to close will be made as early in the morning as possible, but no later than 6 a.m. with notifications going out by 6:30 a.m. at the latest. Should we close, our community will receive a CISD Alert message via text, phone and email, and the announcement will be posted on our website and social media channels, as well as shared with local media outlets. If you do not receive or see these messages, CISD will be open and operating as normal. As a reminder, CISD conducted a test of the CISD Alert system on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 4:30 p.m.
