Action Item
The Board approved Reeder Concrete, Inc. for the civil work and concrete pads for the new elementary playgrounds as part of the 2023 Bond for $1,535,269. The total cost includes the payment and performance bond. The contract includes:
Demolition and haul-off of the existing playgrounds
Grading and drainage for the new playground spaces
The addition of concrete pads for the actual playground equipment
Resodding around the new playgrounds, as well as, over the former playground sites.
The Board had already approved the purchase of the new playground equipment and shade structures during the January 22, 2024 Board Meeting.
Plans are for construction to begin in March/April at nine of the 10 elementary schools that are getting new playgrounds. (Canyon Ranch Elementary, which opened in 2019, is not getting a new playground.)
Valley Ranch Elementary School’s playground will be built in 2025 as part of the school’s renovation included in the 2023 Bond
