March 20, 2024

Dear Coppell ISD Community,

As we work together to address our budget challenges, the insight and feedback from our community are components of this process.  As we endeavor to align revenue and expenditures while maintaining the high standard of education for which we are known, the district is seeking your valuable perspectives via a Budget Dialogue Feedback Survey and Community Dialogue event on April 4.

Your input is important in helping us make informed decisions that align with the needs and goals of our community, enabling us to best support our students, enhance educational experiences, and foster a thriving learning environment. To facilitate this effort, we invite you to participate in our Budget Dialogue Survey at go.coppellisd.com/BudgetDialogue24 or in Spanish at go.coppellisd.com/EnEspanol-Budget-Dialogue-24, which will be available from Wednesday, March 20 to Thursday, March 28 at 5 p.m. Your feedback will be instrumental in our ongoing commitment to engagement and collaboration in the budgeting process.

Additionally, we extend an invitation for you to join us in person at our Budget Community Dialogue Event, where we will share a presentation on the CISD Budget Planning Process and gather feedback that covers the same questions as the survey. This event will take place on Thursday, April 4 at 6 p.m. in the Commons of Coppell High School, located at 185 Parkway in Coppell. Your participation in this event will provide further opportunities for discussion and feedback, contributing significantly to our decision-making process.

Aligning with our core value of collective engagement, we are gathering feedback and input from our community to share with the CISD Board of Trustees and district leaders throughout the multiyear budget planning process via the following:

  • Preliminary focus group feedback from CISD stakeholders that started in January

  • District-wide Budget Dialogue Survey to be conducted from March 20 to March 28

  • Community Dialogue Event to be held on April 4 at 6 p.m. in CHS Commons

  • Additional Focus Group Meetings in April and May

  • Campus and Community Roadshow Presentations in April and May

  • Sharing information with civic organizations, Chambers of Commerce, and community groups as needed

  • Ongoing collection of feedback through input@coppellisd.com

As a reminder, the next Budget Board Workshop is scheduled for Monday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the CISD Vonita White Administration Building, located at 200 S. Denton Tap Road. Your engagement is invaluable as we navigate the budget planning process. Working together to address our budget challenges helps strengthen our community and contributes to the continued excellence of our district.  Thank you in advance for your input, feedback and support.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brad Hunt
