Dr. Anita de la Isla has been selected as Coppell ISD's new Director of ESL and Bilingual Programs.
Dr. de la Isla has more than 25 years in public education and has an extensive background in ESL and bilingual education, having previously served as a Bilingual Educator, Bilingual Instructional Support Specialist and as a Bilingual/ESL Coordinator. She has a Master’s Degree in Bilingual/ESL and Gifted & Talented Education, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. She also serves as an adjunct professor for the Master’s of Education in Reading and ESL program at Dallas Baptist University.
She is a dedicated worker and life-long learner with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children. Dr. de la Isla joined CISD as the Director of Language and Literacy in 2017. She replaces Dr. Patricia Dawson, who left to become the Chief Academic Officer for Ponder ISD.
