Zane Porter

At the April 8 Board Workshop, Zane Porter was announced as the New Principal of New Tech High @ Coppell for the 2024-2025 school year.

Porter has worked in CISD for nine years, including five years teaching English at New Tech before becoming an assistant principal at Coppell High School in 2020. Zane was promoted to the senior leadership position of Associate Principal for CHS in 2022. 

Porter received his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s of Arts degree in English from Wayland Baptist University. He and his wife, Tara, have three children who attend school in Coppell ISD. 

“As a former New Tech educator, Mr. Porter understands how the campus implements its unique Project Based Learning model while providing a rigorous academic experience and supportive culture for its students that focuses on relationships and service to the school and our community, “ said CISD Superintendent Dr. Brad Hunt. “Mr. Porter has a huge heart for our kids and our teachers, and as a former NTH@C staff member, has the knowledge and passion for the New Tech education model. He is the perfect fit for this role, and I know he will continue to work tirelessly to give NTH@C students,  educators and families what they need to continue to be successful.”
